Superglue is a very useful substance, without which it is sometimes impossible to do. But, despite all the precautions, he can easily get on his hands and very firmly glue the fingers. Tear off something happens, but only on the skin will remain tightening smudges, from which there will be a feeling of dryness and tension. They are very disturbing, but they are not washed off with water. How to get rid of the problem? What tools are most effective when there is a need to wash superglue from the surface of fingers and hands? Well, let's understand.
Superglue: a few words about a special substance
Superglue is famous for the fact that at one moment can fasten different parts. And he does it for centuries. Surprisingly, the composition was originally coined for the manufacture of transparent plastic needed in riflescopes of guns (1942).The substance turned out to be not only extremely fluid, but also very sticky, therefore it did not work for the main purpose. However, the formula remained, getting the name "cyanoacrylate".
There is one more amazing application. In general, there are many cyanoacrylates, and some of them are even toxic. However, one of the superglue subspecies, "octyl-2-cyanoacrylate" is actively used in medicine. With it, surgeons stick together wounds without resorting to suturing.
But other varieties that go under the well-known trademark “Super Glue” (where, by the way, the name “superglue” comes from) are widely used in everyday life for instant gluing of various surfaces.
And everything would be fine, but this substance doesn’t care what exactly should be glued together. Superglue joins the fingers with pleasure, and after separation, traces of the composition remain on them, which tighten and dry the skin. The feeling is by no means pleasant, and water is not an aid in dealing with a problem. So let's see what really can cope with superglue on your hands and fingers.
Laundering superglue: what, how, how much
In order to quickly and, most importantly, safely for the skin to wash off the superglue from it, you can resort to using one of the following substances:
- Salt;
- White spirit or acetone;
- Sandpaper;
- Special hand bath;
- Anticle.
However, remember the important rule: in any case, the effect of glue on the skin of the hands is quite traumatic, especially if you have a very gentle one. Therefore, we recommend that after you wash off the substance, treat your hands and fingers with a regenerating or moisturizing cream. Ideal fatty cosmetics designed for kids. They are able to restore even severely damaged skin.
Well, now let's dwell on each method.
Salt
Places on which glue has got, should be lowered under a stream of warm, but not hot water. Gently put on them the usual table salt. Rub to a thick white paste, then rinse. If necessary, repeat the procedure several times. Salt can be replaced with vegetable oil, but then you have to use a cotton swab to make the application as effective as possible. After the glue is completely removed, rinse your hands and grease them with cream.
White Spirit
Universal, rather mild solvent, but in the absence of it you can replace it with acetone or gasoline. This method has a big drawback: a sharp smell,therefore, the procedure should be carried out in a ventilated area. Make a thick cotton swab, moisten it abundantly in the selected substance. Rub them all the places affected by superglue, until you wash them to the end. This procedure is quite traumatic for delicate skin, so after its completion, be sure to wash your hands with soap and smear them with cream.
Sandpaper
A rather painful and unpleasant way, but sometimes, with heavy pollution, it simply cannot be avoided. You can replace hard sandpaper with a softer pumice stone or nail file. But remember, it is necessary to wash superglue with such devices very carefully, as carefully as possible, otherwise you can damage the skin to the blood.
Special hand bath
It is recommended in cases where the area of glue on the hands is quite extensive. The following components should be mixed: hot water + soap chips (or a tablespoon of detergent) + baking soda (1 tablespoon). Immerse your hands in this solution for about 15 minutes. Then gently remove the glue with pumice stone or using a cosmetic scrub. Wash under warm water with soap.
Anticle
Many manufacturers of superglue produce a substance called "anticlust" - it is a universal solvent for all varieties of cyanoacrylates. There will be no problems with him: just put on the problem areas, rub it, and the issue is resolved. The substance is also called a wash. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap after using it.
So, to get rid of superglue that fell on your fingers is not so difficult. Choose the most convenient way for you, and do not be afraid: everything will definitely work out!
