Removing rust stains is not as easy as wine or mildew. The composition eats into the structure of the tissue, due to which the affected area is greatly expanded. The reasons for the appearance of stains include an incorrectly performed washing procedure, in which metal parts were not covered. Also, often the characteristic reddish tint appears due to the drying of things on radiators. The most common reasons include metal benches, swings and other "outdoor" fixtures.
How to remove rust from colored clothes
- Chalk and glycerin. Pre-wash the product in the machine, use a mild conditioner. Prepare the mixture by mixing 45 ml. liquid glycerin, 50 gr. chalk powder and 30 ml. filtered water. Apply the composition to wet clothes, carefully rub into contaminated places.Top cover with cling film or package, wait 5-7 hours. If after the expiration of the composition is not absorbed into the fabric, remove the polyethylene and wait for drying. Complete the procedure by machine wash.
- Means for dishwashers. The method is suitable for removing both old pollution and tumors. Pour 5 liters of filtered warm water into a deep container, add 100 ml. liquids for dishwashers and 120 ml. glycerin, soak in the clothes. Cover the pelvis / bucket with a plastic bag, wait at least 5 hours. After that, wash the product in a typewriter.
- Acetic essence. Vinegar is used to dye fabrics, it retains color well and gives the product brightness. That is why the product is used to remove rust from colored clothing. Get acetic essence with a concentration of not more than 70%. Dilute 100 ml. product in 4 liters of filtered or distilled water, put clothes in a basin and wait at least 3 hours. After the time expires, remove the product, do not rinse it, immediately immerse it in the machine, turning on the intensive mode. If the affected area is small, you should not soak the whole thing, treat the clothes locally.You can also use the usual solution of vinegar (9%), in this case 150 ml. product accounts for 2.5 liters of water.
- Onion. Remove the husks from one onion, skip the vegetable through a meat grinder several times to get a homogeneous liquid mass. Add 35 ml. glycerin, apply the mixture to rust, leave for 3 hours. Remove the excess with a paper napkin, wrap the product with your hands, then wipe the onion-treated areas with a lemon slice to neutralize the smell. Then send the item to the machine, observing the temperature.
- Soda, vinegar and salt. Pour 400 ml into a small container. warm filtered water, add 100 gr. fine food salt, 10 gr. soda and 50 ml. acetic solution (concentration of not more than 9%). Cover the resulting mixture with stained rust, wait 35-45 minutes. After processing the dirt, rinse the product with clean water and send it to a washing machine.
How to remove rust from white clothes
- Hydrogen peroxide. Apply a hydrogen peroxide solution (concentration of 3–6%) to rust stains, leave for 40 minutes. At the end of the term rinse the thing with your hands, evaluate the result.If he did not please you, repeat the procedure. After all the manipulations, send the clothes to the wash, type in an intensive mode and add a whitening powder.
- Lemon acid. Dilute to 270 ml. warm water 35 gr. citric acid, wait until the granules are completely dissolved. Pour the acidified solution into an enamel bowl, bring the composition to a boil. Dampen them with contaminated sites, leave for 10 minutes. Constantly maintain the temperature of the solution: as soon as the fabric has cooled, process it again. Next, do a hand wash.
If you are unable to achieve the desired result, prepare a more concentrated mixture. Dissolve 20 gr. citric acid 40 ml. filtered water should get a viscous mass. Treat rust stains, leave for 15 minutes. At the end of the manipulation wash clothes in a typewriter. - Ammonia and tartaric acid. Combine in one mass 40 gr. tartaric acid and 45 gr. crushed edible salt, pour 50 ml. clean water. Lubricate the affected areas with the mixture, place the product in fresh dry air, wait 50 minutes. At this time, proceed to the preparation of a solution for rinsing.Dilute 150 ml. ammonia 2.5 liters of water, stir. After the tartaric acid and salt are absorbed, remove the excess with a cosmetic disc and put the item into the solution from ammonia, leave for 10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly and send to be washed in the machine.
Universal ways to remove rust from clothes
- Lemon. Citric acid is used for bright things, as it is highly concentrated. As for citrus, it is used for white and colored products from various types of fabric. Squeeze the juice from 0.5-1 lemon, depending on the size of the damaged area. Moisten them with rust stains, put 4 layers of gauze on top and iron the place with an iron. Perform the procedure several times, replacing the old composition of the new. After processing, wash the product in the machine. If it is necessary to remove rust from a thin fabric (chiffon, silk, satin, etc.), do not warm the clothes with an iron, just apply the composition and leave for 25 minutes.
- Bleach In the shops of household chemicals you can buy universal bleaching agents. They are suitable for white and colored things and perfectly break down stubborn rust. If we talk about the most effective drugs, you should buy Domestos or Vanish.The technology of using the composition is transparent: apply a moderate amount of gel to the stain, wait 20-30 minutes, then perform a machine wash with air conditioning. In the absence of a result, it is permitted to apply bleach several times in a row.
- Dishwashing liquid. It is preferable to use the composition of a thick consistency like "Fae". Dilute in 3 liters of warm water (35-45 degrees) 350 ml. dishwashing liquids, stir to a foam and dip clothes into the solution. Soak for at least 12 hours, at the end of the period, wash your hands, then send the product to the machine. If rust stains do not capture a large area of the item, apply clean dish detergent, cover with film and wait 10 hours.
- Talc and turpentine. Purchase in a pharmacy baby powder with chamomile or without fragrances. Moisten the rust with turpentine in moderate amounts to prevent the liquid from running off. Cover the top with talcum powder and put a few sheets of paper, wait a quarter of an hour. Iron the spots with a hot iron through the landscape sheet, shake off the remnants of talc, wash the thing with your hands, then with a machine.
Choose a suitable method for color and feel free to proceed to processing. If possible, remove rust immediately after the appearance of stains, so as not to spoil the structure of the fabric by frequent soaking. Before covering a large area of the product, perform the test on an inconspicuous area.
