Is it possible at home to effectively maintain the purity of the carpet or the only way out is dry cleaning?

Cleaning the carpet at home: ways and secrets

When you start cleaning, you should know in advance what methods to exclude from your arsenal, so that the carpet stays fresh and beautiful for a long time, and does not lose its appearance after several washes. It:

• brushes with stiff bristles, because they can significantly damage the nap;
• washing and cleaning against the nap;
• washing the carpet in unventilated areas;

Cleaning without water is possible if the pollution on the carpet is minimal. You can make it with salt, soda or special industrial cleansers.

For the first method, you will need the usual salt that we use for food. It should be evenly distributed over the entire surface of the carpet and rubbed with a brush until the grains of salt begin to darken, absorbing dirt from the pile. Then it remains only to walk on it with a vacuum cleaner, and the cleaning is over.

The same algorithm is used to clean the carpet using soda. It should be spread evenly over the entire area of ​​the palace and rubbed thoroughly with a brush. But after the soda gets a dark color, it should be left for 5-7 minutes and only then you can begin to vacuum the carpet.

Using a dry method, you can clean the carpet with a special powder or foam. Each manufacturer, of course, has its own instructions for the products it manufactures, but in general it comes down to the following:

• Spread over the surface of the carpet.
• Slightly rub it into the pile and leave for 1-2 hours.
• Vacuuming the carpet.

When using foam on the carpet, wet areas may remain, they need to be dried with a hair dryer.

These methods are suitable for cleaning carpets with light pollution. If persistent or old stains have formed on the carving, they will have to be removed in more radical ways.

Wet cleaning home carpet

In cases where it is not possible to cope with contaminations by dry cleaning only, a wet wash with salt, soda, tea brewing or even sauerkraut will come to the rescue.

Salt-based cleaning solutions
To a kilogram of salt, add the juice of one lemon, mix well and distribute the mixture over the surface of the carpet, leaving it to act for 20 minutes. After this time we moisten a broom in a hot soapy solution and start sweeping salt from the carpet.This method of cleaning will not only help to cope with pollution, but also eliminate unpleasant odors. When all the salt is swept away, the carpet needs to be dried.

A good cleansing properties and has a solution of salt with citric acid. For one liter of water you need to add 10-15 g of acid and a tablespoon of salt, mix well. Vinegar

This cleaning is most effective for carpets made from natural fibers. For artificial materials, vinegar is dangerous and can damage them.

It is better to dry the carpet after cleaning with vinegar in the open air, so if possible, take it outside or open the windows in the room to create a small draft.

Baking soda
By dissolving a quarter cup of soda in three liters of water, you can get an excellent detergent. For convenience, the resulting mixture can be poured into a spray bottle, thoroughly spray it onto the surface of the carpet and leave for 30 minutes, then vacuum it. If to supplement the solution with the juice of one lemon, then it will be possible not only to clean the carpet of dirt, but also to return the former freshness of colors.

Sauerkraut
You can clean the carpet with the help of this, at first glance, inappropriate, product, like chopped sauerkraut. After rinsing and squeezing through several layers of gauze, scatter it all over the carpet and start brushing it directly over the cabbage. When it becomes dirty, rinse it again, wring it out and repeat the whole cleaning process until the cabbage stops becoming dirty.

This method will not cope with persistent and old stains, but it will help to refresh the carpet and eliminate surface contamination.

Tea Brewing
You can clean the carpet using tea brew, it does not matter from black or green tea. But this method is suitable only for floor shades of dark shades. Light carpets are not recommended to be cleaned in this way.

Another disadvantage of this method is that for cleaning you need to collect a fairly large amount of welding, which must be pre-dried and stored in a dry place, otherwise it will cause mold. If this does not scare you, then typing a small supply of tea leaves, you can try to clean the carpet with it.

Carpet cleaning in the street
