 How to bring down the temperature of folk remedies

Useful berries

At elevated temperatures, plenty of drink is recommended. Warm teas and decoctions save the body from dehydration and stimulate sweating. Antipyretic and antibacterial properties have:

  • viburnum berries;
  • cranberry;
  • dried fruits, for example, dried apricots or raisins;
  • raspberry berries and leaves;
  • black and red currants;
  • Strawberry.

Dried berries are brewed with boiling water for 10–15 minutes, and then they drink fruit tea with honey. Raspberry or strawberry jam, which is diluted with hot water, is also suitable. Fresh cranberries or viburnum berries are ground with sugar and eaten with currant or chamomile broth.

Dried fruits are steamed for 20–30 minutes, and then they use compote and raisins with dried apricots.

Lemon lowers the temperature and maintains immunity. Citruses are added to tea, eaten with sugar or honey, they are made from a febrifuge drink:

  • Squeeze juice from one or two yellow fruits
  • Add warm water
  • Put a little buckwheat or lime honey.

Important: Lemon juice can not be diluted with boiling water. Vitamin C evaporates at high temperatures, and the drink loses its beneficial properties.

Herbal decoctions from the heat

Is there no berries or citrus in the house? It's time to check the home first aid kit. Perhaps there is a package:

 Herbal decoctions from the heat

  • daisies;
  • lime blossom;
  • aspen or birch buds;
  • Hypericum;
  • Thyme or Peppermint

Herbs reduce inflammation and destroy the infection, absorb toxins and increase sweating.It is possible to prepare medicinal tea from one plant or to mix several.

On a glass of boiling water to take 20-30 g of dry ingredient. Cover the infusion cup with a saucer or lid, you can wrap a towel. Wait half an hour, add 1-2 tablespoons of honey and drink in small sips.

Water treatments for fever

When fever is recommended to take a cool bath. Water temperature should be 38-40 degrees. If the fever is accompanied by drowsiness and fatigue, add 4–6 drops of essential oil:

 Water treatments for fever

  • eucalyptus;
  • thyme;
  • menthol;
  • grapefruit;
  • lavender.

Sea salt has a tonic effect, and if you pour in a little vinegar, sweating will increase and the temperature will normalize much faster.

Bath with additives and essential oils to take no more than 20 minutes. Warm water increases the load on the patient’s cardiovascular system, and the person may feel dizzy or have a heart attack.

Important: Sometimes there are recommendations to wrap the patient’s body with a cold, wet sheet during a fever. Low temperatures inhibit immunity and slow recovery, so the infection continues to spread throughout the body, and the fever only increases.

Instead of bathing, you can take foot baths. Pour into a basin of water at room temperature, keep feet in it for 15–20 minutes.

Compresses and rubbing

Vinegar is a powerful diaphoretic agent. Suitable nine percentage table or apple version. Dissolve a tablespoon of vinegar in a liter of cool water, soak a terry towel or a piece of cotton cloth in liquid.

To undress the patient to underwear. Treat the lower and upper extremities with the vinegar solution, put a compress on the forehead and change it every 2–3 minutes. Does the thermometer indicate that the temperature has risen above 39 degrees? Dampen cotton socks with a solution and wear for 30–40 minutes.

Adults recommend rubdown with vodka. Alcohol should be diluted with water, proportions 1 to 1. Treat with a cloth dipped in the product, armpits, elbows and wrists. You can put a compress of alcohol on the ankles.

Important: Acetic and vodka rubbing cannot be used if a person has cold limbs. Heat provoked a spasm of blood vessels in the arms or legs, and such methods only worsen the patient's condition.

Potatoes and onions against fever
Wash raw potatoes under the tap, grate on a fine grater. Add to the resulting gruel a teaspoon of vinegar, mix thoroughly. Put the mass on a soft cloth, apply a potato compress to the temples and forehead, wrists and elbows.

Potatoes can be cut into several thick slices and attached to the feet. Wrap up the pieces of vegetables with plastic wrap, put wool socks on top. Onions are used in a similar way.

Means for internal use

If a cold or flu has caused the fever, it is recommended to use a lot of citruses:

  • a few spoons of honey;
  • chopped cloves of garlic.

When fever is useful to eat salad, which is made from onions, honey and apples. Products take in equal proportions. Vegetables and fruits grate or chop finely, fill with honey. Eat a tablespoon of apple and onion paste three times a day.

General recommendations

  1. The temperature in the room in which the patient is located should be within + 20–23 degrees. If it is stuffy in the room, it should be aired.
  2. Do not use humidifiers. They worsen sweating and create favorable conditions for the reproduction of infection and viruses.
  3. Need to drink plenty of fluids. Recommended decoctions of wild rose and elderberry flowers, dried fruit compotes and mineral water, green and black tea.
  4. Exhausted body is hard to fight the infection, so you should sleep a lot, move less, try not to watch TV and stay up at the computer.
  5. No need to wrap much. Enough one blanket or warm pajamas. When the body is hot, both inside and outside, the temperature does not drop, but may, on the contrary, increase.

It is necessary not only to fight the heat, but also to find its cause. Sometimes the common cold is to blame, but the temperature may rise due to tuberculosis or gout, dangerous infections and diseases of the nervous system. Therefore, in case of a fever that lasts for several days in a row, it is recommended not to engage in independent activities, but to consult a doctor.
