It often happens that if you receive a beautiful bouquet of roses as a gift, you want to prolong his life not in a vase, but grow a full-fledged bush. Particularly skilled gardeners can spend the whole process of growing a bush from a cut flower, without even thinking. What do beauty lovers do in such cases? In fact, it is worth noting that before a full bush begins to flaunt under the windows in the country house or in the house, at least two years will pass. Therefore, starting to grow roses from a cut flower, you need to be patient.
Stages that must be strictly followed when growing roses
- Wait until the flowers are almost completely wilted in the bouquet - it’s great that you don’t need to spoil the flower arrangement if you want to do gardening.
- After withering it is necessary to get rid of leaves, buds and the flower itself with a sharp knife, thus forming a cutting. On each cutting should be two or three buds.
- Above the kidney by 1 cm you need to make an oblique cut. It is very important to accurately observe the specified distance, because if the cutting is longer, it can shrivel due to lack of moisture. Even if the plant does not have leaves, the plant still needs water that evaporates from the surface. After wetting the slice with water, it is necessary to treat it with dry potassium permanganate, and then make a strong solution of permanganate and soak the cuttings in it for a day.
- When planting the cutting note: on the surface should be two or three buds. As a fertilizer, it is best to use wood-humus mixture, and sprinkle with peat and sand mixture on top. River sand is best suited, and cuttings should be planted as far as possible into the ground.
- To accelerate rooting, treatment with growth stimulants is carried out. These drugs are sold freely in flower shops.
- Next, you need a greenhouse effect that can be achieved with a glass or plastic vessel mounted on top. The earth must be constantly wet. The stalk, in turn, needs to be sprayed frequently.
- The root system will develop correctly and quickly if the first buds released by the plant are constantly removed.
- After the appearance of the first roots, spraying can be stopped, and the seedling can be ventilated. In a month you can spend 1 feeding.
- After 1.5–2 months, the seedling can be moved to a pot. For this you need to make a mixture. Sand, humus and turf ground mix in the ratio 1x1x3 and fill it with capacity. It must be remembered that the first winter for a young plant is a big stress and a very difficult moment. In this regard, in the middle of autumn a pot with a rose must be placed in the room. The temperature in which will be quite low - about 3-5 degrees.
- After a successful wintering, the cuttings will be strong and ready for landing in the ground without shelter. In preparing the land for planting, it must be re-digged and the nutrition of organic fertilizers improved.
- In the first year of a full-fledged life of a flower, it should be carefully treated to open land. First of all, it concerns the colors that no matter how I would like to leave, but still, it is necessary to delete. Everything is done in order not to pull the force out of a still young bush.
With the implementation of all the rules and advice in the correct order and with particular scrupulousness after the first year, its root system will be strengthened almost completely. As a result of the effort and time spent, the strong lush rose will surely delight with its luxurious flowering look.
If the rose bush is already under the window, but there is a desire to grow another one, then you can use this method.
In the summer, when the plant is in full swing of its puss and produces young and strong shoots, it is necessary to cut one of them with the help of a pruner at a small angle. Ideally, the chosen shoot should be like a regular pencil, because it is these seedlings that will withstand all the stresses necessary for full growth. Also, cut branches should be straight. Next, you need to cut them into cuttings approximately 23 cm in length. After removing all the leaves from the lower half, you can start planting.
In open ground in a bright, sunny area you need to dig a trench and cover it with sand. The prepared cutting is deepened into the earth by two thirds and we fall asleep from above with black soil. While the process is unremarkable and the only thing left to do is to tread on the ground around the future rose bush and take care of sufficient watering for full and strong rooting. But there is a little secret that makes this method unique. It lies in the usual potatoes. Before planting the stalk in the ground, it must be stuck in the potato. The root crop will take care to constantly maintain a moist environment for the seedling. Thanks to her, at the end of August, the cuttings will be fully prepared for transplantation. Potatoes become a guarantee that, in the end, you can get excellent quality planting material. Of course, all the sprouts from the potato need to be extracted.
