How to remove a stain from nail polish with clothes

Nail polish remover

You can use acetone in its pure form or you can buy a product that contains it.

Important!
Do not use acetone in the fight against varnish stains on thin and delicate fabrics. The composition damages the fiber structure.

  1. Remove the product, moisten the reverse side of the stain with vegetable or olive oil.Such a move will not allow the varnish to penetrate deeper. Place a food film on the inside so that the trail is not printed.
  2. Apply a heavy layer of acetone on a cosmetic swab, begin to treat the stain from the edges. So that the trail does not spread, you can moisten the area around the contamination with cold (icy) water or cover it with baby powder without fragrances.
  3. After processing the edges, move to the center of the spot, the cosmetic disk will be painted, so you need to constantly change it.
  4. In the case of cleaning light things on the fabric may remain stains. To get rid of them, take a foam rubber sponge, soak it in gasoline and rub well on both sides, and then sprinkle the area with talcum powder without perfumes.

Glycerol

The product is suitable for cleaning products stained with varnishes on fluorescent and aluminum base.

  1. Apply natural oil to the inner area of the stain, slightly wipe the outer side with nail polish remover.
  2. Heat a jar of liquid glycerin in a water bath, sprinkle the areas around the stain with rye flour or talcum powder.
  3. If the spot is small, dip a cotton swab in a tube of glycerin, carefully handle the trail. In cases of large contamination, you must use a cosmetic swab.
  4. After processing the traces of varnish glycerin, wait 30-40 minutes. After the expiration date, blot the stain with a paper napkin and repeat the previous steps.
  5. After 3-4 procedures, the trail will begin to fade. When it becomes almost imperceptible, soak the thing in warm water with detergent or soap. Leave for 1 hour.
  6. Complete the procedure with a machine wash, do not forget to pour in a fabric softener. If the thing is white, you can add a little bleach to the air conditioner tank. If the product is colored or dark, pour 65-75 grams into the second compartment. baking soda.

Gasoline (AI-95, AI-98)

For removing varnish stains used only gasoline with a high octane rating. Means is suitable for removal of traces from any kinds of fabric.

 Gasoline from nail polish stains

  1. Place a white paper towel or white cotton towel under the place of contamination, fold the lining in several layers.
  2. Dampen cosmetic disk with petrol, place it on top of the stain, wait half an hour.Make sure that the cotton swab is always wet, as gasoline tends to evaporate quickly.
  3. After the time, remove the compress, evaluate the result. Repeat as necessary. Complete the procedure with laundry with soap.

Mechanical cleaning

  1. In a similar way, fine spots are cleaned, such as a drop or accidental contact of a part of the nail with the surface of the clothes. It is enough to dry the trail and try to scrape it with nail nippers or a non-sharp knife. The smeared stain left after mechanical cleaning is removed with gasoline or nail polish remover.
  2. There is another method of processing products in this way. Lubricate the varnish stain with butter, leave for half an hour, rinse. Rub wet clothes with tar soap, wait about an hour. Try to scrape the lacquer base in a convenient way, then combine the ammonia and turpentine into one composition. Moisten a cotton pad in the resulting solution and wipe the treated area, leave for 1.5 hours. After this period, the varnish will begin to "melt", then it must be cleaned with laundry soap or powder in large quantities.

White spirit (solvent)

The composition is more gentle than acetone in pure form or solvents of industrial production. White spirit can be purchased at the auto enamel store or on the construction market.

  1. Apply a greasy cream or vegetable oil to the wrong side of the stain, soak the area around the dirt with cold water.
  2. Process cosmetic disc moistened in white spirit, lacquer mark. Start cleaning from the edges, gradually move to the center.
  3. Leave on for 15–20 minutes, blot with a paper napkin and evaluate the result. In case of insufficient effect or appearance of stains, dip a soft cloth or a cosmetic swab in gasoline.
  4. Wipe the stain on both sides, sprinkle with lemon juice to neutralize the smell. Finish by washing with a machine and drying in the open air.

Hydrogen peroxide

The technology is suitable for removing stains on light fabrics, because the peroxide solution bleaches the product. If you dare to apply the composition on colored or dark clothes, do a test for washing the coloring pigment. To remove contaminants, it is necessary to take only 6% peroxide solution; if desired, the drug can be replaced with Chlorhexidine with the same concentration.

Hydrogen peroxide from nail polish stains

  1. Moisten the cosmetic disc in the solution, attach it to the stain and fix. On the second disc, apply a greasy base, which will push the varnish from the inside. It can be butter / vegetable oil or baby cream. The second tampon is enclosed from the wrong side and is also fixed.
  2. The exposure time in this case is 20-30 minutes. After the deadline, you need to remove the discs, by which time the varnish has softened. Try to scrape it off gently with a blunt object, just don't smear it.
  3. When you remove most of the composition, wet the swab in hydrogen peroxide and begin to intensively rub off the stain. The disc will absorb the color, so it must be replaced with a new one as often as possible.

What not to do

  1. For applying the product to the surface of the product, always use cosmetic tampons or cotton pads. Do not pour the product out of the bottle, otherwise it will capture even a clean area, due to which the stain will spread.
  2. Warm glycerin is suitable for removing stains from delicate clothing types. It softens and does not injure the fabric. It is impossible to process silk, satin and other thin fabrics with rigid compounds.
  3. You should not apply White spirit on products from genuine and artificial leather. In the first case, it leaves spots; in the second, it raises the upper layer, as a result of which blisters form.

Before cleaning, perform the test in an inconspicuous area, it may be a bend in the seam or a lapel pocket. Put a little bit of the selected agent on the fabric, wait for about 20 minutes, assess the stability of the coloring pigment. If the shade has not changed, proceed to the removal of pollution.
