Bed bugs - how to get rid at home?

Bed bugs are a terrible "find" that can be found by every apartment owner. If you do not follow the basic rules of hygiene, the parasites will multiply, harm health and spoil good things. From the name it can be understood that bugs lodge preferably in a bed. But they are also often found under baseboards, in the ceiling area and other hard-to-reach places. Let's look at effective methods of getting rid of this scourge.

 Bed bugs

Why do bed bugs appear

Before embarking on mass extermination of pests, it is necessary to examine the true causes of their occurrence in your home. This should be done in order to continue to prevent this and carefully monitor basic hygiene.

  1. The first way to penetrate adult individuals to you can be located next to the apartment. If a neighbor fights with bedbugs, they will move to you through the front door, walls, ventilation, windows, etc. Therefore, when detecting bedbugs, go to the people living in the neighborhood, and clarify the situation. Perhaps the people poisoned bedbugs, and those with a desire to live moved to you in all possible ways.
  2. Bedbugs can be easily “picked up” and brought into the house on outerwear, shoes, a bag, a cloth bag from a store, etc. They can also enter the apartment with pets, guests or builders who have recently carried out repairs. Be carefull.
  3. Bed bugs hide well enough, you will not find them immediately. Most often they appear in an old sofa or bed, hiding in a soft upholstery. Often parasites can be found in the old wardrobe.
  4. To another location and the reason for the appearance can be attributed to the materials that one way or another were in your house. We are talking about old wood, cardboard boxes, foam, etc.
  5. People who carefully monitor hygiene, know firsthand that you should not stay in low-cost hotels by the road or two-star hotels.Such places often accumulate a lot of bedbugs that climb into a suitcase and move to your apartment.
  6. Bed bugs can make themselves known to residents who have just entered the acquired "secondary housing". If the apartment has been standing and selling for a long time from the second hand, the bugs can fall into hibernation (long sleep) for a period of six months to a year. When people enter the house, the parasites wake up and actively awake.

Where do bed bugs live

If we are talking about bed bugs, they wake up at night. In the period from 3 to 5 hours is the peak of activity. Lice are attracted to the heat and smell of the human body, so when they hit the bed they begin to bite and leave traces of their presence.

Interestingly, the bugs stick to the body after piercing the skin, simultaneously releasing a special solution for pain relief. That is, in fact, bites are not felt. In the morning only reddening can be seen, therein lies the danger.

When it dawns, the bugs hide in secret corners, trying to keep closer to the bed. Favorite "hiding places" lice are soft furnishings: ottoman, armchair, sofa, bed. Most often, bugs hide in the joints, stuffing, any small crevices. They are not found in open space.

Also habitat is considered to be home appliances. Bedbugs are found in the crevices of a microwave, TV, desktop PC or laptop, game console.

Bed bugs love to settle in books that are dusty on the shelves for a long time. They are found behind furniture, in sockets and extension cords, ventilation, behind baseboards, tapestries, paintings, under a carpet and a carpet. If clothes and shoes are rarely used, lice will gladly settle there and will multiply.
